Sound Technology I
Description
An introduction to the use of sound in entertainment, its natural properties and physical components. Topics include microphones, recording equipment, control consoles, reproduction techniques, amplification, distribution, loud speaker systems, frequency response, decibels, and dynamic range. Live and recorded sound techniques and the assembly of sound effects from pre-recorded sources will be covered.For hybrid and online sections, minimum technology requirements are a working camera and microphone. Students are to switch both on at the instructor’s request.
