Description
This course will review extant social welfare policies and programs in order to provide the foundation for applied social welfare policy analysis and intervention. The course will define and utilize multiple analytical frameworks to examine the interactive nature of organizational, political, judicial, and economic principles on social welfare policy. Societal response (social welfare programs) to endemic, systemic, and acute/localized needs/problems (social policy will be scrutinized to promote the development of creative and unique societal response methodolgoies within human services. The diversity of client populations and their needs necessitates the specialization inherent individualistic thought, analysis, and solution. Information technology and gathering will be heavily stressed as a means to effective policy and program formation.
