Description
The course will involve a philosophical evaluation of the goals, methods, standards and values involved in engineering. It will cover the ethical and political implications of engineering and the role of engineering in work, leisure, and transforming the environment. The course will concentrate on anaysis and case studies involving problematic moral situations with relevance to engineering or involving engineering decisions, such as the Challenger disaster, Chernobly and Three Mile Island.SATISFIES FLEXIBLE CORE- INDIVIDUAL & SOCIETY
