Introduces econometric and empirical methods used for data analysis in economics. Techniques for estimating models, including simple and multiple regression with cross-sectional data, are discussed. Topics include survey sampling methods, ordinary least squares estimation, the Gauss-Markov theorem, statistical inference, prediction, goodness-of-fit, serial autocorrelation, the Central Limit Theorem, and introductory time series analysis.
