The theory and principles of the refrigeration cycle and air-conditioning necessary to calculate adequate thermal energy related to the proper size of HVAC & R units and associated systems. Analysis of the design and operation of several types of refrigeration systems, including vapor-compression, absorption, gas-cycle refrigeration, and air conditioning system. Through lectures and case studies, development of a comprehensive understanding of how refrigeration and air conditioning systems work and how to apply principles in real-world scenarios.
