Description

The first part of a two-semester sequence in experimental design. The goal of this sequence is to prepare students for work in academic and / or industrial Research and Development environments by learning how to design, build, and troubleshoot experiments; use automated computer-based techniques to collect, analyze and present the results of these experiments; discuss sources of error in the data collected; and draw scientific conclusions from the data. The experiments carried out in this course impart skills and knowledge relevant to the fields of photonics, semiconductor devices, and engineering.
