The marketing degree is designed for the student interested in dynamic careers in the 21st century. Today’s marketing student must prepare for tomorrow’s business opportunities and be educated and sensitive to cultural diversity, environmental concerns, technological changes, and ethical issues to facilitate the exchange of goods and services in the global marketplace.

Students are introduced to careers in marketing management, professional selling, sales management, market research, supply chain management, direct marketing, entrepreneurship, and advertising. In addition to the specialized courses, the curriculum offers general business subjects to broaden the students’ competence required in business and industry today.

Among the employers of graduates of this program are: General Foods Corporation, Prudential Financial Services, New York Life Insurance Company, Gallo Wine, Procter and Gamble, TD Bank, JPMorgan Chase, United Parcel Service, Staples, Virgin Atlantic Records, Crate and Barrel, Abercrombie and Fitch, PepsiCo, Essence Magazine, New York City Transit Authority, and Sprint.

Graduates have a history of success in business, including advancing to executive positions and/or becoming entrepreneurs.

Learning Outcomes

  • Use core marketing principles to explain and apply fundamental marketing concepts to real-world business scenarios.

  • Communicate persuasive marketing and sales messages and plans tailored to diverse audiences effectively in oral, written, and digital formats.

  • Conduct consumer behavior analysis by interpreting data-driven sources using critical thinking and information literacy skills.

  • Utilize digital and traditional marketing tools and technologies to plan, execute, and evaluate marketing strategies and campaigns.

Distance Learning Information

The AS in Health Sciences has been approved by NYSED and MSCHE to be offered as a fully online program.

This degree program does not accept international students needing an F-1 visa, because we cannot guarantee that students will be able satisfy the Department of Homeland Security requirement that students maintain their full-time status and do not take more than 3 credits online each semester (dhs.gov). A significant component of this program is offered online.

Bachelor's degrees and AA and AS degrees require six flexible common core courses: at least one course in each of the five flexible core areas and an additional sixth course in one of them. AAS degrees may require fewer overall flexible core credits. Students can complete no more than two courses from any one area.
